Have a Question?
Why should I choose Visit Natural Detox Resort?
We are the exact opposite of a hardcore fitness bootcamp or a boring, restrictive juice-cleanse retreat. We don’t believe in shouting personal trainers, strict diets, or starvation methods; instead, we focus on a fun-loving, sustainable approach to health where you can truly find healthy habits that last. Located right by the stunning beach in Lamai, Koh Samui, our retreat combines the healing power of exercising in nature and relaxing yoga with delicious, nutrient-dense healthy food shared around family-style tables. By intentionally keeping our group sizes under 20 guests, we create an intimate, supportive environment where you can build genuine lifelong friendships and form healthy habits you will actually want to take home with you.
When is the best time to visit Koh Samui for the retreat?
We are open year-round because Koh Samui’s tropical climate is consistently warm and pleasant, with average temperatures around 28°C (82°F) and virtually no cold weather. While the island transitions through dry, hot, and rainy seasons, the absolute best weather window runs from December through September, offering endless sunshine perfect for outdoor fitness and beach activities. Even during our short rainy season in October and November, tropical showers typically pass quickly—often lasting less than an hour—meaning you will still enjoy plenty of clear skies and sunshine for your wellness journey no matter when you choose to join us.
Where is the resort located?
Visit Natural Detox Resort is located in Lamai on the tropical island of Koh Samui, Thailand—just steps from one of the island’s best beaches. A convenient 25-minute taxi ride from Koh Samui Airport brings you to the perfect sweet spot: right where Lamai’s vibrant local markets meet the peaceful, quiet side of the island. It’s the ultimate base for exploring, offering easy access to coastal adventures while serving as a quiet sanctuary for your fitness and wellness journey.
Do I need travel insurance for the retreat?
While travel insurance is not strictly mandatory to enter Thailand, we do recommend securing a comprehensive policy before arriving. Since our program involves active outdoor experiences like hiking, yoga, and fitness sessions across Koh Samui, having insurance gives you complete peace of mind in case of unexpected travel delays, flight cancellations, or medical issues. When choosing a policy, just ensure it covers general outdoor and physical activities so you can fully dive into your wellness journey with total confidence.
What kind of weight loss and wellness results can I expect?
Our focus is less on a number on a scale and much more on how you feel, how your clothes fit, and finding sustainable activities and habits you can take home with you. We aren’t a hardcore fitness bootcamp with shouting trainers, and we won’t be starving you on strict juice cleanses; instead, we focus on overall well-being through exercising in nature, relaxing yoga, and delicious, healthy food. While many guests do experience natural weight loss during their stay in Koh Samui, it is a byproduct of a healthy lifestyle rather than our main goal. If you prefer to track metrics, we have a scale and can take measurements, but it is completely optional—we highly recommend leaving the scale behind and focusing on your energy and overall feeling.
What day do I check in for the retreat?
Our standard check-in day is Sunday so that everyone can start the new week together fresh on Monday morning. We do this intentionally to help you connect with like-minded people who are on a similar wellness journey, fostering a supportive community from day one—an aspect our guests tell us keeps them coming back again and again. While Sunday is our standard arrival day to get the full group experience, we know travel plans can be unpredictable; if you need to check in on a different day or leave early, please don’t hesitate to ask and we will do our best to accommodate.
Is this retreat suitable for beginners?
Absolutely—no prior experience is necessary, and all of our activities are fully modifiable to match your fitness level. Whether you are hitting the trails or practicing on the mat, we tailor the pace to you; our guided hikes always feature at least two guides so you can move comfortably at your own speed without pressure. Our professional instructors are experts at teaching all levels, meaning you’ll feel completely supported whether you are trying yoga for the first time or practicing Muay Thai as a total beginner.
What should I pack for the retreat?
Think tropical, warm, and comfortable! Since Koh Samui is warm year-round, you’ll want to pack light, breathable athletic wear for daily workouts and hikes, comfortable trainers, and flip-flops or sandals for the beach. For outdoor adventures, we recommend bringing a small backpack, a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated, a sun hat, and sunglasses. Optional water shoes are great for exploring local waterfalls safely, and it is always smart to toss in a lightweight rain jacket just in case of a quick tropical shower.
How many guests are usually at the retreat?
To keep our community vibe strong, we purposefully keep our groups small. With only 17 rooms on-site, our group sizes stay under 20 guests at a time so that everyone can easily get to know one another without the crowds. All of our fitness classes, morning hikes, and workshops are reserved just for our retreat guests, creating a highly tailored and intimate environment. To bring everyone together, we also feature large family-style tables at our Wild Tribe restaurant so you can easily swap stories, connect over healthy food, and let authentic friendships flourish.
