Night markets and walking streets are one of the main attractions in Thailand. With bustling streets full of souvenirs, food, and bright colours, you can’t miss spending an evening at a walking street during your time in ‘the land of smiles’.
Lamai’s Sunday walking street has been titled ‘the best walking street in Thailand’ by several blogs and visitors to the country. It’s undoubtedly one of the most joyful, colourful, and wonderful things to experience when in Koh Samui.
Make sure that you head to the walking street on an empty stomach – there’s no shortage of affordable street food, all of which will have your mouth watering in no time. You’ll find everything from insects (if you want a taste of the weirder side of Thailand!) and Thai curries, to cocktail booths, all whilst experiencing a little live entertainment.
Unlike many other markets, this walking street sells a variety of different objects at each stall, so you won’t be wandering around just seeing repeats of the same items for 2 hours. It’s the ideal place to grab yourself or a family member a souvenir from your time spent in Koh Samui.
